A private image workflow for the web
Prepare, resize, convert and compress images locally without losing sight of quality.
Start with the original
Keep an untouched master before changing dimensions, format or compression. A web-ready derivative is easier to replace when the source remains available.
Resize before compression
Match pixel dimensions to the largest real display size. Sending a 4000-pixel image into a 900-pixel content column wastes bytes regardless of quality settings.
Choose format by content
Use JPEG or WebP for photographs, and PNG or WebP where transparency or sharp flat-color graphics matter. Check small text at normal viewing size.
Remove metadata before sharing
A re-encoded public copy can omit common camera and location metadata. For high-risk or legal workflows, verify the result with a specialist metadata inspector.
